Oman Shortlists Four Bidders for Veterinary Quarantine PPP Project
Oman’s Authority for Public Services Regulation (APSR), in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, has prequalified four companies to bid for the development of veterinary quarantine centres under a public-private partnership (PPP) project in Oman.
The prequalification process is a key step towards advancing the project, which is owned by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources and aims to develop modern veterinary quarantine facilities through a PPP model. The four prequalified companies are Al Madina Logistics Services, Tianjin Ringpu Bio-Technology Company, EDECS Contracting Holding, and Arkan Logistics. During the Request for Qualification (RFQ) stage, 25 companies submitted expressions of interest, while seven companies proceeded to submit prequalification applications. Following the evaluation process, four companies were selected to move forward.
Under the proposed Design, Build, Finance, Operate, and Maintain (DBFOM) model, the private-sector partner will be responsible for delivering and managing the facility, while supporting government efforts to regulate the importation and quarantine of animals in accordance with national and international standards.
The next phases of the project will include the Request for Proposal (RFP) stage, followed by contract award and signing.

Oman Power & Water Procurement Company has selected GS Inima Environment a subsidiary of GS Engineering & Construction as the preferred bidder for desalination projects worth OMR 2.3 trillion (US$2.1 billion) in Oman.
