The Brazilian state of Paraná has announced a public meeting for the Londrina - Maringá rail public private partnership (PPP) project.
This announcement comes after last month we reported that Paraná launched a tender process to hire consultants for the project. Interested parties had to submit their expression of interest on or before 19 November, but he deadline has now been moved to 19 January 2016.
The public meeting will be held tomorrow 15 December in Curitiba, the capital of the state of Paraná.
Authorized firms will have 330 days to submit the requested feasibility studies for the project, including the finishing and redefining of the study developed by the University of Santa Catarina, the development of topographic, geo-mechanical, hydrological and environmental studies and technical designs.
Londrina is a city located in the north of the state of Paraná and is 369 km away from the state capital, Curitiba. The city has approximately 550,000 inhabitants and 820.000 in its metropolitan area, being the second largest city in Paraná.
Maringá is the third largest city in the state of Paraná with approximately 400,000 inhabitants in the city, and 775,000 in its metropolitan area. Located in north west of Paraná and crossed by the Tropic of Capricorn it is a regional centre for commerce, services, agro-industries, and universities.
