Plenary Group appoints new Head of Business Development

Plenary Group has appointed James Chisholm as the newly-created Head of Business Development (BD).

James joined Plenary in September with more than two decades' experience in the infrastructure services industry, most recently as Building Solutions General Manager, Asia Pacific for global infrastructure company, Honeywell.

James holds a Master of Commerce from University of New South Wales and is trained as Six Sigma black belt.

Plenary Group Managing Director Paul Oppenheim said he was excited by the new business opportunities that will come from this new role. Paul stated:

"One of the benefits of being a leading developer and operator of PPPs is that we have a broad range of talent at our disposal. Having James on board allows us to continue our focus on developing and operating PPPs, but to also leverage our experience to offer value-add solutions to owners of large, complex assets."

James said his aim is to identify where Plenary can offer value to government, quasi-government and private organisations in Australia and New Zealand to help manage their existing assets more effectively. James commented:

"Plenary has a great team of talented people that have achieved impressive results in managing important, large and complex assets. My role goes far beyond offering traditional facilities management services for existing assets. I want to help organisations manage their biggest challenges across their asset portfolio, making them more efficient operationally and more financially viable in the long run.

"In the current economic climate of strained budgets and limited capital it has never been more important to unlock value in existing assets that is currently not being realised, be it in the form of cost savings, reduced risk or increasing revenues."
