The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of Pakistan has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the development of Islamabad International Airport.

The Concessionaire's role encompasses the designing, financing, construction, rehabilitation, operation, maintenance, and eventual transfer of the Airport. The winning bidder will also be responsible for construction of the terminal(s), landside areas around the Terminal(s), including the access roads, bus stops, taxi stands, car parks, car rental facilities and airside operations.

The Minimum Technical and Financial Criteria involve either:

• operating two or more international airports, with at least one having an annual average traffic of 5 million passengers (with at least 25% being international traffic); or
• operating at least one international airport with annual average traffic of 10 million passengers (with at least 25% being international traffic). The average traffic calculation spans from 2017 to 2019, and at least one of the mentioned airports must have been managed by the Bidder for a minimum of seven years before the Concession Notice Date.

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) has been appointed by the Grantor as its lead advisor to assist in the structuring and implementation of the Project.
