The government of the state of São Paulo, Brazil, has hired the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank, to support its road program.
The program aims to upgrade the state's road network. The IFC will review and complete technical studies already developed by the government of São Paulo. It is expected that the IFC will hire external consultants to carry out the project.
The IFC will also support the government to attract investors and intenational organizations such as the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
This is part of São Paulo's transportation infrastructure program, which includes PPP project for roads, airports and collective transportation systems. For roads concession, a total of approximately R$10.5 billion (US$3 billion) has been outlined
In terms of roads, a phase of public consultancy for a lot of 570 km of highways called the Florínia - Igarapava group was opened on May 23 and it is currently open until June 22. The 30 - year concession lot could receive investments of around R$3.4 billion (US$993 million).
