Sao Paulo state cour has suspended again the tender process for the development of a water treatment system through a PPP in Taubate.
The proposals had to be received last 27 May but the tender process was cancelled a day before. Interested parties have 48 hours to submit their questions and considerations.
Total revenues of the waste PPP project were valued at R$2 billion (US$632 million). The contract agreement was for a period of 30 years.
This is the second time that the project is cancelled. On 16 July 2014 we reported that Sao Paulo state court cancelled for the first time the tender process for the project. At that time, the decision was made due to the fact that different groups challenged the process because the tender documents were not very complete. They didn't include an investment estimated value and prevented teams of companies from bidding together in association.
Last week we published that the Brazilian municipality of Sorocaba, though it public private partnership (PPP) unit, launched a request for expressions of interest (RfEOI) to develop the feasibility studies for a waste PPP project. Interested parties must submit their proposals on or before 30 June 2015.
