The city of Ribeirão Preto, located in the Northeastern region of the state of São Paulo in Brazil, published a tender process for a public private partnership contract that includes the provision of the following public services: urban cleaning, handling, treatment and disposal of solid, health and construction waste.

The project was structured via a Request for Expressions of Interest or Procedimento de Manifestação de Interesse (PMI). Later, in February 2013, there was a public consultation process.

The PPP contract will have a period of 20 years and the estimated investment of the contract is R$ 272 million (US$119 million). Bids will have to lower than the maximum monthly payment, which is around R$ 10.5 million  (US$4.59 million).

The deadline for submission of proposals is 10 December 2013.
