Tender launched for healthcare center in Spanish island

The local government of La Gomera, one of Spain's Canary Islands, has launched a tender process to develop a healthcare center through a PPP project in the island.

The project will involve the upgrade and operation of the old hospital. The contract period would be 40 years.

The new healthcare center will have capacity for 100 people, 85 of them would be residents.

The total project investment is estimated at €5.2 million (US$5.6 million).

According to sources, the hospital is expected to be partially operational by the end of 2015. Interested parties must submit their proposals on or before 23 April 2015.

La Gomera is located in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Africa. In area, it is the second-smallest of the seven main islands of this group. It belongs to the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
