The Reserve Bank of India releases a report called: Infrastructure Financing- Global pattern and the Indian experience. August 2010 There is huge problem when talking about infrastructure financing in India. All the PPP projects being currently developed need a debt amount that should be a long term obligation. But in India, commercial banks are not actually lending money with long tenors. There is a lot of talk about infrastructure bonds and government's involvement in facilitating long term debt.Multilateral banks as the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the World Bank's institution the International Finance Corporation are being of great help to structure all these PPP projects. A national bank, the reserve Bank of India, is also helping not only to structure these projects but also to develop new instruments in order to have a more sophisticated lending market.Today, I am bringing this report from this last institution that summarize the lending experience with regards to infrastructure in India and abroad. It has been published in the last daysI hope that it is of yor interest:Infrastructure Financing. the Global Pattern and the Indian Experience.
