University in Rome launches PPP tender

Roma Tre University, an Italian public university located in Rome, Italy, has launched a tender process for the development of a new building at an area called "Ex Ente Consumo" through a PPP model.

The preferred bidder will be responsible for the design, build, financing, operation and maintenance of the new building. It will also have to provide equipment and related services. The concession has an investment value estimated at €34.6 million (US$38.8 million).

Interested parties must submit their applications in Italian on or before 21 December this year.

Roma Tre University was the third public university to be established in the metropolitan area of Rome. The university comprises 8 schools and 32 departments, enrolling 35,338 students and having 1,370 academic and professional staff.

At present, the university offers 54 undergraduate degreeprograms, 75 master's degree programs, 16 doctoral schools and five PhD programs. It is the second-largest university of Rome by enrollment and one of the largest research-based institutions in the country.

In late July Orbassano, a commune in the Province of Turin (Italy), launched a tender process to redevelop the Leonardo Da Vinci school though a PPP project. The civic PPP project includes the design, redevelopment, financing and maintenance of the facilities for a period of 20 years. The building will hold the Town Hall.
