DP World has agreed on a deal with the Somali state of Puntland to expand and upgrade the port of Bosaso in Puntland, Somalia.
The project involves:
- Installation of a 150 m quay and repair of an existing 215 m quay;
- Development of a 3,000 sq m container yard and a 4,000 sq m container stripping yard; and
- Upgradation of the gate area to the port to improve access control.
The upgradation intends to handle feeder vessels from Dubai and other regional hubs. The project is expected to complete within 12 months.
