The National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) in Colombia and Vía 40 Express Concessionaire managed to make viable the IP project for the Expansion of the Bogotá-Girardot highway. The agreements signed defined the conditions to achieve the execution of this important project, guaranteeing its bankability.

In the following four months, the mobilization of personnel and equipment will be carried out to start the works. The property, environmental, and design optimizations will be carried out in Functional Units. The roadmap to define the definitive scope of the project will be made within the framework of the "Compromiso Colombia" strategy of the Comptroller General of the Republic.

The IP Tercer Carril Bogotá-Girardot project establishes the construction, property, social and environmental management, and the transfer of networks. The works include, among others, the rehabilitation of the dual carriageway, over an approximate length of 144.8 km, the expansion to the third lane from the Chinauta tollgate to Soacha on both carriageways, and the expansion to the third lane from the sector of Boquerón to the Chinauta tollbooth, in the direction Girardot - Bogotá.

It also includes the rehabilitation of the Guillermo León Valencia tunnel, the adaptation of pedestrian bridges located over the corridor, the construction of roundabouts, and the expansion and construction of vehicular bridges.
