The National Land Transport Agency (ANTT) has approved the concession plan for Ferrogrão railway project along with technical studies and draft public notice and contract. The Ferrogrão railway concession includes the development of a 933 km long railway line connecting Mato Grosso and Pará states. The concession will provide railway line connecting the grain-producing region of the Midwest to the State of Pará, ending at the Port of Miritituba.

The project proposes to be the new logistical corridor in the country, which links the development of the Brazilian agricultural frontier to the demand for an integrated cargo transport infrastructure, producing high-impact socioeconomic benefits between Sinop, in Mato Grosso, and Itaituba, in Pará. The production of soy and corn are the highlights of the region.
