Brazil awarded contracts for two public lighting PPP projects

Two contracts have been signed for the public lighting service concession of the municipalities of Cachoeiro do Itapemirim, in Espírito Santo, and Toledo, in Paraná, Brazil. The contracts are valid for 13 years and provide for investments of BRL160 million (US$32.23 million). 

With a discount of 68.05% of the amount proposed in the public notice, Consórcio Luz de Itapemirim, formed by Tradetek Comércio Importação e Exportação de Luminárias Ltda., Endeal Engenharia e Contruções and represented by Corretora Planner, won the auction to provide public lighting services for the municipality of Cachoeiro do Itapemirim. The final offer is BRL248.300 (US$50,020). The project will modernize around 23,000 lighting points, using LED technology and remote managemnet equipment. 

Consórcio Ilumina, represented by Corretora CM Capital Markets, won the auction for the concession of public lighting services in the municipality of Toledo. The offer of BRL303,000 (US$61,039) represents a discount of 51% on the value of the tariff. The project will benefit more than 144,000 residents by modernizing around 31,000 public lighting points.
