Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) of the Philippines has announced that the Central Luzon Link Expressway (CCLEX), which connects the provinces of Tarlac and Nueva Ecija, should be operational up to San Juan, Aliaga, Nueva Ecija towards mid-2023.

The DPWH Unified Project Management Office–Roads Management Cluster 1 is engaged in the completion of a 7-km section, connecting the Guimba-Aliaga Road intersection to the San Juan Interchange. This expansion will increase the total length of the accessible CLLEX route from 18 km to 25 km. Upon the completion of this segment, only a remaining 5 km of CLLEX will remain unfinished, connecting Tarlac City and Cabanatuan City. CLLEX originates at the junction of the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway/Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway. The delay in property reimbursement is attributed to difficulties faced by claimants in fulfilling document requirements, such as proof of ownership, encumbrance cancellations, estate tax payments, and creditor name changes.

Upon completion, the CLLEX project will provide efficient and secure travel in Central Luzon. Serving as a crucial east-west connection in the expressway network of Region 3, it will ensure smooth traffic flow for motorists traveling between Metro Manila and North Luzon Expressway, Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway/Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway. The project will reduce the travel time between Tarlac City and Cabanatuan City from the usual 70 min to just 20 min.
