Colombia's National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) has presented Canal del Dique rehabilitation project.

The government sets to restore the degraded ecosystem of the Canal. The canal connects the Magdalena River, in the Bolivar Department, and Cartagena Bay. It serves up to 1.5 million inhabitants in 20 municipalities in the departments of Bolívar, Atlántico, and Sucre. The project has the Hydrosedimentological Management Plan approved by the Environmental Authority that is essential in the structuring of the project.

The planned development requires up to COP2.3 billion (US$680,073) investment that will be sourced from the National Government of Colombia.
