National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) in Colombia has signed a concession contract with PRC-MC Plural Structure for the New Malla Vial del Valle del Cauca: Accesses Cali-Palmira. This is the first Concession of the Bicentennial, which is part of the new wave of multimodal projects in Colombia.

The project includes construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance along 310km of road that runs through the departments of Valle del Cauca and Cauca. The scope of works involves the construction of 15.8 km of new simple road, between Cali and Jamundí; construction of 12.4 km of new second lanes; 291 km of rehabilitation (overhaul) of existing corridors; construction of two uneven interchanges (Sameco and Versalles); a vehicular bridge over the Cauca River between Jamundí and Villarrica; as well as the construction of 22 pedestrian bridges, cycle routes and the adaptation of lighting in various corridors, among others.

The estimated investment value of the project is COP1.22 trillion (US$322 million). Patria Infrastructure Fund IV Private Capital Fund will provide accredited financial capacity and investment to the PRC-MC Plural Structure. The pre-construction phase of the project is expected to last one year and construction works are scheduled to begin in second half of 2022.

The road corridor foresees the generation of 40,000 direct, indirect and induced jobs.
