Construction completed for US$722.66 million Road Corridor project in Colombia

National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) in Colombia has announced the completion of construction works for the Chirajara-Fundadores corridor

The corridor features 22.6 km of a second lane (lower third), six tunnels totaling 10 km in length, 20 vehicular bridges and 7 pedestrian bridges. Located between the Bijagual and Buenavista sectors the corridor has a 4.5 km long landmark tunnel Buenavista II. The other tunnels are Pala tunnel (1,953 m), tunnel 5 (1,670 m), tunnel 3 (1,450 m), tunnel 2 (552 m) and tunnel 6 or Bijagual (230 m).

The COP3.2 billion (US$722.66 million) project will benefit 600,000 inhabitants of the departments of Meta and Cundinamarca and more specifically of municipalities such as Chipaque, Cáqueza, Quetame, Guayabetal, Une, Gutiérrez, and the city of Villavicencio.
