Construction works progress for USD42 billion Expressway Corridor in India

The Indian Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has announced the progress of the multi-modal corridor Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway project in Gujarat, India.

The US$42 billion project includes the development of a 109 Km long greenfield corridor with a width of 120 m of which 90 m is for the expressway and the remaining 30 m is left for a railway corridor to be built. The Expressway aims to provide direct connectivity to the airport at Dholera enabling high-speed travel between Ahmedabad and Dholera thus reducing the travel time to about 1 hour.

The scope of work is to accelerate industrial activities in Ahmedabad and Dholera and to connect Sarkhej via Dholera International Airport at Navagam and Sardar Patel Ring Road near Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR).

The construction of the project is expected to be completed by January 2024.
