The French Ministry has awarded a EUR178 million (US$193.94 million) construction contract for the development of a police station in Vinci, France.

The scope of work includes the renovation of existing buildings as per European construction standards, roadwork and utility network construction, electricity and asbestos removal. Additionally, around 300 sq m of photovoltaic panels will be installed on the roof.

Vinci subsidiary Dumez Côte d’Azur and architect Wilmotte & Associés are responsible to design, build, maintain and operate (DBMO) a 50,000 sq m police station that will contain 2,000 staff from local and national police services. The building intends to allow Nice’s “Urban Hypervision and Command Centre” to combine forces with the national police’s Information and Command Centre.

The work began in January 2023 and is scheduled for completion in December 2025.
