Contract awarded for USD315 million Wellheads Platforms in Malaysia

Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Sdn Bhd (MMHE) wholly-owned subsidiary of Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Holdings Berhad (MHB) has secured an MYR 1.4 billion (US$ 315.92 million) contract from Carigali-PTTEPI Operating Company Sdn Bhd (CPOC) in Malaysia.

The contract is to undertake the provision of engineering, procurement, construction & installation (EPCI) of 5 wellhead platforms, 5 subsea pipelines and host tie-ins works. The EPCI contract is for the Joint Development Area (JDA) Field Development Project (Phase 6) located in the Malaysia-Thailand Joint Development Area (MTJDA). Once completed, the platforms will be installed in a water depth ranging between 55 m and 65 m, in the area under B-17-01 of the south of the Gulf of Thailand, off the coast of Thailand and Malaysia.

These new developments signify the recovery of the oil & gas industry in the region after a period of slowdown due to the pandemic.
