Contracting Process Started for Rafael Núñez International Airport expansion PPP Project in Cartagena

The National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) has announced to open the contracting process for Rafael Núñez International Airport expansion PPP Project in Cartagena, Colombia.

ANI opened the bidding for participation of interested third parties in the Private Initiative (IP). The IP is US$490 billion investment which consists of the financing, construction, operation, maintenance and reversal of both the airside and the landside of the Airport. 

The scope of work includes the development of:

  • a new international terminal of around 17,360 m2;
  • the main platform expanded to 99,770 m2; and
  • the current terminal remodeled for a total of 25,144 m2.

Cartagena Airport aims to boost tourism and contribute to the reactivation of the economy in the area. The new concession will be for 8.5 years and is expected to be awarded in the middle of this year.
