HBD has appointed Bowmer + Kirkland to deliver the first phase of the landmark GBP1bn (US$1.33 bn) Golden Valley development in Cheltenham, UK.
The development will be delivered in partnership between HBD and Cheltenham Borough Council and represents a significant step forward in solidifying the UK’s cyber and tech innovation capabilities.
Phase one of the project will begin in spring 2026 and includes the construction of two flagship buildings, IDEA - the National Cyber Innovation Centre, will provide 160,000 sq ft of high-quality workspace and flexible event space, designed inspire groundbreaking ideas and innovation. ROUTER is a transport hub powered by smart technology, facilitating sustainable travel across the 200 ha scheme alongside range of leisure, retail and wellbeing facilities. The wider Golden Valley development will see the delivery of 2,500 homes, 1.25m sq ft of commercial space is expected to create around 12,000 jobs.

Bowmer + Kirkland has worked with HBD on several major projects, most recently Island, its GBP60 million (US$80 million) net zero carbon office scheme in Manchester city centre.
