The Costa Rican Institute of Pacific Ports (INCOP) is planning to sign an extension contract with the current concessionaire Sociedad Portuaria de Caldera (SPC) for the Port of Caldera located in Puntarenas, Costa Rica.
The current contract with SPC expires in 2026, whereas with the extension agreement, SPC will be responsible for the operational works until 2031.
The interim extension contract will facilitate corrective works until the new international concession contract process is concluded. SPC has been acting as the port operator for the Port of Caldera since 2006.
