The Diriyah Company in Saudi Arabia has initiated post-tender clarifications with bidders for the development of assets in the Opera Block, situated in the Boulevard West District of the DG2 area within the Diriyah project in Riyadh.
In addition, tendering activities are progressing on other significant schemes within the Diriyah project. Notably, the company is evaluating commercial bids for the Arena Block, located in the Boulevard Southwest section of the DG2 area. The commercial bids for this multibillion-riyal package, which comprises mixed-use facilities including offices, were opened earlier in January 2025, with an award expected shortly.
The Diriyah masterplan envisions the city as a cultural and lifestyle tourism destination, located northwest of Riyadh’s city center, encompassing 14 square kilometers. The plan integrates 300 years of history, culture, and heritage with hospitality facilities. In the previous year, Diriyah Company awarded several significant contracts, including a US$2 billion contract to a joint venture of El-Seif Engineering & Contracting and China State for the North Cultural District, and a US$2.1 billion package to a joint venture of Albawani and Qatar’s Urbacon for the Wadi Safar district. In December, a contract estimated at SR5.8 billion (US$1.5 billion) was awarded to Nesma & Partners for the Jabal Al-Qurain Avenue cultural district. Upon completion, Diriyah is expected to accommodate 100,000 residents and visitors.
