Alberta Infrastructure in Canada is exploring public-private partnership procurement to repurpose the former Royal Alberta Museum (RAM) in Glenora neighbourhood, Edmonton and old Remand Centre (which used to house a correctional facility) in the centre of Edmonton. Both sites have been unoccupied for a few years now. The RAM was closed in 2015 and old Remand Centre in 2013.

The sity didn´t express interest to buy the old Remand Centre even for a dollar, due to demolishion and renovation costs. Therefore the Government is open to ideas on development opportunities from private partners.

Alberta Infrastructure wants to build infrastructure without incurring upfront public sector debt thus it is considering to partner with the private sector to find solutions.
