The City of Edmonton in Canada has selected Hyundai-Rotem to supply 40 light rail vehicles (LRVs) for the Valley Line West LRT project.

The estimated contract value is CAD390 million (US$313.30 million). These rolling stocks will provide services for a 14-kilometer light rail line from Downtown to Lewis Farms, which will then integrate into the Valley Line Southeast line. The contract is expected to be finalized in December 2021, with the delivery of the first lot of rolling stock in 2025.

Edmonton west line LRT will provide an LRT link to major destinations within the City, including Norquest College, MacEwan University, 124 Street, Meadowlark Mall, the Misericordia Hospital, and West Edmonton Mall. Marigold Infrastructure Partners has assumed the role of the project owner and is responsible for the construction works of the project.
