Djibouti’s Urban Rehabilitation and Social Housing Agency has invited expressions of interest (EOI) from consulting firms for a study relating to slum improvement and integrated urban development in the Djaga-Bouldhouq area.

The study's focus is on establishing a fresh development and urban planning strategy for the Djibouti metropolitan area, which entails:

  1. Integrating a strategic national development framework that encompasses spatial, environmental, social, cultural, economic, and financial planning.

  2. Devising an urban development blueprint aimed at reshaping the Djibouti metropolitan area into a sustainable, inclusive, and resilient city, while addressing a comprehensive array of issues, challenges, and imperatives.

The Republic of Djibouti has secured funding from the Islamic Development Bank to support the slum improvement and integrated urban development project in the Djaga-Bouldhouq area (district 7). A portion of these funds will be allocated to finance consultant services for a study concerning the creation of a new Development and Urban Planning Scheme for the Djibouti Agglomeration.

EOI in written form must be submitted (in person or by post, fax, or email) to the address mentioned no later than September 27, 2023. More information about this tender can be found on our Business Opportunity page here.
