EOI Issued for supervision of Road corridor PPP project in Democratic Republic of Congo

The Democratic Republic of Congo’s Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Works has invited expressions of interest (EOI) from consultants to supervise the road works for a transnational corridor to Angola (phase I).

The contract's scope involves providing support to Cell Infrastructures for the oversight and monitoring of road construction activities and related infrastructure within the Project. It encompasses the supervision and monitoring of:

  • Lot 1: National Road 1 (RN1), from RN1 to Kasingi, which includes roads extending 3km from the city of Kananga and the development of a rest area;
  • Lot 2: RN1, Kasinga to Bena Mulongo; and
  • Lot 3: RN1, Bena Mulongo to Kakangai River, encompassing roads in the towns of Munkamba (2km) and Kabeya Kamwanga (5.1km) and the establishment of a rest area.

The project also encompasses various associated tasks:

  • Construction of a market in Kalamba Mbuji.
  • Establishment of two weighing stations in Kalamba–Mbuji and Munkamba.
  • Creation of two rest areas.
  • Construction and equipping of various structures (e.g., learning centers, primary schools, agricultural schools, surgery pavilions, health centers, office buildings, etc.).
  • Construction and equipping of rural markets.
  • Construction and equipping of two warehouses.
  • Drilling and equipping water boreholes.
  • Rehabilitation and maintenance of 150km of rural roads.

The African Development Bank is funding the project. The last date to submit Expressions of interest (EOIs) in French is September 12, 2023. More information about this tender can be found on our Business Opportunity page here.
