The Australian and New South Wales (NSW) governments have approved the M1 Pacific Motorway extension to Raymond Terrace in NSW, Australia.

The scope of work involves a 15 km extension of the M1 Pacific Motorway from Black Hill to Raymond Terrace, including a 2.6 km long bridge over the New England Highway and Hunter River. The neighborhood's network will also be improved, including the Hexham Straight Widening, which will add 3 lanes in each direction for around 6 km of the Pacific Highway/Maitland Road between the Newcastle Inner City Bypass at Sandgate and the New England Highway at Hexham Bridge.

Seymour Whyte Constructions will complete the northern contract, finishing the 5 km portion that will bypass Heatherbrae, while John Holland Gamuda Australia will complete the southern contract, spanning a 10 km segment extending from Black Hill to Tomago.

The project is expected to be open to traffic in mid-2028.
