Greece announced development of Government Park

The Government Committee for Contracts of Strategic Importance has announced the building and operation of the Government Park at the premises of the former PYRKAL factory under a private-public partnership (PPP) project in the Dafni-Ymitto area, Athens, Greece. 

The project has the following features:

  • the number of buildings will reach 30, of which 5 are new buildings, which must keep a distance of buildings of more than 20 m from the boundary of the property-property;
  • new construction 98,000 sq.m. with total additional coverage of approximately 17.6 ac;
  • two underground parking spaces with a total capacity of 2,000 spaces in all the buildings;
  • public and free urban green spaces;
  • buildings for public works, places for public meetings and daily services.

The total coverage of the project, which will be led by the Ministry of Development and Investments, will amount to 45,257 sq.m. and the total construction in 148,704 sq.m. of which 98,000 will concern the 5 new buildings and 47,704 sq.m. of the current buildings will be preserved, covering an area of about 27.7 ac.

The tender, worth approximately EUR250 million (US$246 million), is scheduled to take place in early 2023 and requires the creation of a plan and the approval of the Environmental Study from the Ministry of the Interior. The project is designed to upgrade the government area and 120 ac of its greenery and public use areas will be delivered to the residents of the Municipality of Dafni-Ymittos.
