The Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) Management Authority for Urban Railways (MAUR) has decided to end cooperation with the consortium, Metro Team Line 2, who was providing consultancy services for the city's Metro Line 2 PPP project.

The consortium of Pöyry Infra GmbH, Pöyry Infra AG, Obermeyer Planen + Beraten GmbH, ILF Beratencde Ingenieure GmbH and TEDI South provided engineer, design and supervision consultancy services to ensure efficient delivery of the project. The services commenced in January 2021 but stopped in October 2018, due to disputes over fees for service packages. After which the MAUR and the consortium could not agree on an appendix to renew an Independent Consultant (IC) Agreement contract.

The MAUR is planning to organize a tender to find a new consultant to finalize the work on the metro line. The project includes a metro line of around 11-km length and 11 stations. It is part of the six metro lines planned in the city with a combined length of 220 km and with an investment of nearly US$25 billion.
