IG4 Capital and Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo) have entered into an agreement to acquire a controlling stake in  Brazilian water and sewage company Iguá Saneamento S.A. The transaction is expected to close within 50 days subject to customary closing conditions.

By pursuing new concession opportunities in the Brazilian water and sewage sector the company plans to continue Iguá Saneamento's investment program in its 18 existing public-private partnerships and concessions, and to grow the company.

The agreement comes one year after the establishment of FIP Iguá to manage Iguá Saneamento S.A., formerly CAB Ambiental. IG4 Capital will continue to be the controlling shareholder of FIP Iguá.
