The Directorate of State Transport of the Government of Haryana, a state in northern India, is seeking a private partner to implement an e-ticketing, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)-based pass system and GPS system on a Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) basis.

The authority published a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the project in October, inviting responses until 4 December 2018. This has now been extended to 23 January 2019. For more information on the RFP, see the Business Opportunity.

The systems implemented by the selected private partner will serve the State Transport Department. Through its service provider Haryana Roadways, the department owns a fleet of 4,212 buses, 24 depots, and 13 sub-depots. Haryana Roadways services transport 1,234,000 passengers daily on 1,204 intra-state and 446 inter-state routes. The department issues approximately 240,000 passes a year.
