The Government of Australia has announced an investment in the Melbourne Airport rail link project among AUD 14 billion (US$ 10.2 billion) in new infrastructure projects. The governments of Australia and the state of Victoria have committed AUD 5 billion (US$ 3.69 billion) each in funding for the route.
