The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) has approved the 31 km long light rail line project, which will connect Artesia to Union Station in downtown Los Angeles, USA.

The project will be developed in two phases. The 24 km long first segment of the rail line will connect Artesia to the Florence-Firestone area. The construction works for the first phase are expected to be completed by 2033 with an estimated cost of investment of US$4.9 billion. The second phase is a 7 km long line, half of which will be underground, and will run underneath Little Tokyo. The 2nd line is expected to be operational in 2043.
