The Government of St. Mary in Maryland has launched a request for qualification (RFQ) for the design, build, finance of a low kill/no-kill animal shelter that houses the animals rescued/picked-up by the Animal Control Wardens, and also serve as a public pet adoption center in St. Mary's County, Maryland, California, USA. The shelter will also house our Animal Control Division and the Sheriff’s Department K-9 Section. This will include a fenced compound for training purposes, secure indoor facilities isolated from all other animals, to include but not be limited to kennels, indoor-outdoor runs, indoor bath for K-9’s and administrative offices that are secure from all other components of the building.

The facility will be constructed on a centrally located nine (9) acre parcel of land that has access to public water and sewer, is close to residential and retail areas, and is easily accessible to all residents of the county. The building footprint is expected to be approximately 13,000 square feet, plus a 1,200 square foot outer barn/stable area to accommodate larger animals.

The deadline for the submission of documents is on April 25, 2019.
