The Mayors’ Council has endorsed TransLink’s recommendation to suspend the Surrey-Newton-Guildford LRT Project, pausing all work in order to stop the expenditure of money and resources on the project. The decision give light to begin the work on extending the existing SkyTrain network in Surrey from King George Station to Langley City. The City’s Engineering and Transportation staff have already started work on the SkyTrain project in Surrey.

The decision coincides with the Mayors’ Council’s 10 Year Plan of which the City of Surrey fully supports.
