The Water and Electricity Company (WEC) of Saudi Arabia has announced the prices proposed by bidders for the Dammam West Independent Sewage Treatment Plant (ISTP). The authority is currently seeking a private partner to develop, finance, operate and maintain the plant, which is to have capacity to treat of up to 330,000 m³/day.

Seven bids were received in response to the Request for Proposals, issued by WEC in March this year. A consortium of Metito Utilities Limited, Mowah, and Orascom Construction, have submitted the lowest price proposal, with a levelised cost of SAR1.268/m³ (US$0.336/m³).
