Namibia's Finance Minister ready to appoint PPP committee

Carl-Hermann Gustav, Namibian finance minister, has submitted before parliament a total of seven members to be appointed to the Public Private Partnership committee. 

On the 7th of November 2018, the names of the members were approved by the cabinet. Carl-Hermann Gustav aims to appoint Hellen Amupolo, Nangula Uaandja, Annely Haiphene, Steve Galloway, James Myupe and Michael Mukete. The seventh member of the committee is to be appointed by the finance deputy permanent secretary. The committee members will serve for a period of three years.

The committe will began with the principal objective of appraising project documentation at various stages of a PPP project lifecycle. It will also be responsible for, among others, providing transaction approvals in respect of PPPs, and for developing practice guidelines to all aspects of PPP projects.
