Perini Management Services Wins US$69.5 million Water and Wastewater Rehabilitation Contract

Perini Management Services, Inc., a subsidiary of Tutor Perini Corporation, has been awarded a US$69.5 million contract by the National Park Service to rehabilitate and upgrade water and wastewater treatment systems at Death Valley National Park in California, USA.

The scope of work includes rehabilitating, replacing, and upgrading critical components of the water and wastewater systems within the Furnace Creek and Cow Creek areas of Death Valley National Park. Both areas comprise the park’s primary developed areas and serve the park’s 1.7 million annual visitors, 1,100 residents, and the Timbisha Shoshone Tribe.

The wastewater treatment upgrades will involve replacing sewer gravity and force mains, service laterals and pump stations. Water infrastructure improvements will include the installation of a new distribution network comprising water mains, laterals, pumps and associated equipment, along with the development of new potable water wells. The works will also include reconstruction of the reverse osmosis treatment and chlorination buildings, upgrades to control systems, and repairs to an existing lagoon to increase its capacity.

Work is expected to begin in the fall of 2026, with substantial completion anticipated in early 2029. When completed, the project will eliminate significant deferred maintenance, improve the reliability and resilience of essential utility infrastructure, increase system capacity, enhance public health and environmental protection, and provide dependable water and wastewater service for park visitors, residents, employees, and partners. The contract value will be added to the Company’s backlog in Q3 of 2026.
