Kildare County Council has given the green light to expand the Kildare Innovation Campus (KIC) in Parsonstown near Leixlip, Ireland.

Several companies, including HP Enterprise and DB Schenker, are based at the KIC. The planning application for the former HP (Hewlett Packard) campus outlines a multi-phase expansion project, encompassing the construction of two cutting-edge 'deep tech' structures, four new data center facilities, and an Energy Centre. This expansion, scheduled from 2024 to 2035, represents an investment of EUR2.5 billion (US$2,673 million) in the 178-acre KIC site, with projected annual wages totaling EUR267 million (US$285 million) upon completion.

According to the assessment by Grant Thornton, KIC aims to establish itself as the premier technological and innovation campus in Europe, focusing on areas such as AI and robotics, Quantum Computing, semiconductors, AgTech, Renewables, Digital Health, and Space Technologies. The proposal involves the addition of 152,138 sq m of new buildings, resulting in a total combined area of 195,525 sq m, encompassing both existing and proposed developments.
