National Power Corporation (NPC) in the Philippines has announced its plans to build four more solar photovoltaic-diesel hybrids in its Small Power Utilities Group (SPUG) plants. The plan entails plants at:

  1. 55 kWp hybrid plant at SPUG located in Cuaming, Bohol
  2. 40 kWp hybrid plant at SPUG located in  Palumbanes, Catanduanes
  3. 250 kWp hybrid plant at SPUG located in Sabtang, Batanes
  4. 250 kWp hybrid plant at SPUG located in Itbayat, Batanes

These plants will be developed under NPC's 2021 to 2025 Missionary Electrification Plan, which provides a framework of how renewable energy particularly solar hybrid will be implemented and integrated into its existing SPUG areas for the next five years. Hybrid plants are aimed to save 45,800 liters of fuel per year as well as reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 101,820 kg every year.
