Preferred bidders selected for Broadband fiber PPP project in North Carolina

The North Carolina Department of Transportation has announced the preferred bidders based on the final request of proposals (RFP) for the Broadband fiber PPP project in North Carolina. The preferred proposers are:

  • Brooks Berry Haynie & Associates for Track 1a: Design-Build;
  • Plenary Broadband Infrastructure for Track 1b: Operate, Maintain, and Commercialize.

The project includes installation of broadband fiber along the I-95 highway from the South Carolina state line to the Virginia state line and along the U.S. 70 route from I-40 to the Port of Morehead City and the U.S. 74 route from I-40 near Wilmington to Ashville.
