The National Waterway Transportation Agency (ANTAQ) will hold, on March 18, starting at 2:30 pm, a public hearing to discuss the lease of the Santos 10 Container Terminal (Tecon Santos 10), a bidding process that will increase the capacity of the Port of Santos (SP) by 50%.
The megaterminal project, which will be the largest auction in Brazilian port history with an expected investment of BRL 5.6 billion (US$ 973 million), should create the conditions for the Port of Santos (SP) to become a hub for all of Latin America. The project was recently restructured by the Ministry of Ports and Airports and the Agency and is designed to be the largest terminal in the Port of Santos, consolidating itself as an essential project to meet the demand for the movement and storage of containers and general cargo in the port complex. The financial contributions that will be allocated to the terminal over 25 years will enable interventions in the leased area and the common areas of the port, including dredging services in the maneuvering area and the berths of the new terminal.
