The LTG Group’s infrastructure company, LTG Infra, which is responsible for implementing Rail Baltica in Lithuania, has announced the winner of a new construction tender to build a 12.1 km railway embankment section from Šėta to Ramygala (Part II).
This work, worth EUR 83.36 million (US$95 million), will be carried out by the Panevėžys-based company HISK. HISK (previously known as Panevėžio keliai) is among the leading infrastructure construction firms in the Baltic region, with a history dating back to 1965.
The project encompasses a wide range of infrastructure components, with a strong focus on ensuring traffic safety due to the railway intersecting three key regional roads. The work will involve constructing 12.1 km of new railway embankment, along with two green bridges, a railway bridge, two viaducts, and 27 culverts and wildlife passages.
HISK will also undertake significant upgrades to regional state roads, including the reconstruction of drainage systems, a gas pipeline crossing beneath the embankment, and electrical distribution networks, as well as the installation of noise barriers. The construction is scheduled for completion in Q4 of 2027, with funding provided by both the European Union and Lithuania’s national budget.
Later this year, additional contracts are expected to be awarded for embankment construction along the Kaunas–Šveicarija, Ramygala–Berčiūnai, and Berčiūnai–Joniškėlis segments, bringing the total active construction length to 114 kilometers.
