RFEOI launched seeking market developer in Freetown

Freetown City Council (FCC) in Sierra Leone has launched a request for expression of interest (RFEOI) seeking a private developer for the development of 8 markets of Freetown, the capital city of Sierra Leone. The project includes Design, Finance, Build, Operate and Transfer of Aberdeen Market, Wilberforce Market, Hagan Street Market,  Wellington Palm Bridge Market, King Jimmy Market (via the cost), Peters Brook Market (nicknamed –Belgium), Allen Town Market and Calaba Town Market in capital city of Sierra Leone, Freetown.

The scope of works involves the provision of a conducive and weather-tight trading environment for both traders and customers; additional supporting infrastructure and facilities to vendors; ability to accommodate more vendors within the new markets, improved welfare, health, and safety facilities and up-gradation of the socio-economic infrastructure.

The concession period for the project is 25 years. The deadline to submit the interest is January 28, 2018.
