The World Bank Group has issued a request for expression of interest (RFEOI) seeking a technical consultant to prepare a handbook for PPP and Environmental & Social (E&S). Environmental and Social (E&S) impacts of an infrastructure project are often either not properly addressed or are only taken into consideration much later in the project's development lifecycle. Unfortunately, the proper application of E&S safeguards is a significant challenge in the context of PPPs.

The objective of technical consultant will be to prepare a PPP and E&S Handbook that will provide stakeholders (both public and private) with an easy-to-read guide on those key E&S issues that need to be considered throughout the lifecycle of a PPP project, as well as a guide for the public sector as to how these E&S issues can be best dealt with from both a bidding and contractual perspective.

The deadline to submit the interest is January 20, 2020.
