The Minister for Education of the government of South Australia has announced that funds have been allocated in the State Budget 2018-2019 for the tender of the construction and maintenance of two new schools in Adelaide, the state capital, by a private partner.

The new metropolitan schools, to be built in the Munno Para and Aldinga areas of the city, will each accommodate up to 1,675 children – including 1500 students, 100 special school students and a 75-place children’s centre. They will be constructed by the start of the 2022 school year.

The Ministry will seek private sector Expressions of Interest this month. The selected private partner will receive some financial support from the government, as allocated in the State Budget. The total estimated investment required is AUD261 million (US$187.5 million).
