Tender launched for two biogas projects concession in UK

Yorkshire Water Services Limited is seeking to enter agreements for the sale of all biogas produced through its anaerobic digestion processes at its Knostrop wastewater treatment works, in Leeds and Blackburn Meadows wastewater treatment works in Sheffield.

Both projects will be procured on a design, build, finance, operate and maintain (DBFOM) basis, and will require the development of a biogas upgrading facility on leased land within the site. The scope of works for both projects includes the installation of biogas pre-treatment, upgrading facilities and gas export infrastructure at the site.

Knostrop biogas plant produces 14-15 million Normal Cubic Meters ("Nm3") of biogas per year. The project is valued at GBP130 million (US$177.36 million) and will be awarded for a 15-year period. Blackburn Meadows biogas plant produces 6-7 million Normal Cubic Meters ("Nm3") of biogas annually. The project is valued at GBP60 million (US$81.86 million).

The deadline to express interest is October 20, 2021. More information about this business opportunity is available here
